Optical fiber cables
These cables are use light for transmission of data instead
of other electrical signal used by the utp cables.
They can carry data for long distances no matter even to a
few milometer.
There are two types of cables.
Single mode-used for high bandwidth requirement for long
distances.
Multi-mode- used for shorter distances.
They connect directly to the Fiber Patch Panel at either
end.
Usually they come from multiple cores 6 core/ 12core/24 core
24 core are common.
For each connection, two cores are used – one for transmit
and another for receive.
